Lamb Chops Anyone?

Do you like good fresh lamb? If so, here's your opportunity! Loudon County 4-H members have 25 show lambs for sale this year. The lambs will range in size from 80 to 145 pounds. The final show will be on July 14. The lambs will go to slaughter on July 15.

The kid's either raised or bought most of the show lambs from breeders in Tennessee. The lambs have been on full feed since April. So they should yield top quality lamb.

A 100 pound lamb will give you about 50 pounds of meat. Most of the lambs processed at Morgan's in Madisonville.

Here's the price breakdown for an average 100 pound lamb:

100 lb. X 1.75=$175 (This is what the 4-Her receives)

$38.50 processing fee (This is what Morgan's charges)

Total: $213.50 for an average 100 pound lamb.

Smaller lambs would cost less and larger lambs would be more.

If you are interested in purchasing 1/2 or a whole lamb, contact me at 458-5612 (office) or 250-8312 (cell).

Thank-You!
