School's Out

From Mike Garren Director Of Loudon County Schools:

Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation relative to the timing of spring break, the amount of travel that has taken place, and after consultation with our medical director, the decision has been made to keep schools closed an additional week.

All athletics and extra-curricular activities at schools will also be cancelled, and schools will be closed for students until Monday, March 23, 2020.

We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the week, and additional guidance will be forthcoming.

We are aware that we will have exceeded our number of stockpiled days; however, the health and welfare of our students and community is of the utmost importance. With guidance from the TN Department of Education, and the Loudon County School Board, we will have a plan in place soon to make up the two days over our stockpiled amount in the least impactful manner.

Please remember to contact your school administrator this Monday if you have traveled out of the country or into a level 3 affected area. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we try to work through this situation. I hope everyone has a safe and healthy week.
