Knox man charged with theft, assault

A Knoxville man was arrested July 26 after a call about domestic violence also uncovered theft of property.
Loudon County Sheriff’s Officer Marco Luna responded to a gas station in Loudon from where an employee called on behalf of a woman who had walked in and looked like she had been assaulted.
Luna talked with the woman in the gas station’s bathroom, and she said she had gotten into an altercation with Eric Steven Williams, 30.

Williams and the woman were on their way to an address in Loudon when he told her to stop at the gas station. She decided to ask for help and hide in the bathroom. She said Williams had made threats on her life and she did not feel safe getting back in the car with him.

Luna found Williams outside the gas station near the woman’s car. He claimed to have no knowledge of any threats.
While Luna spoke with Williams, a store employee came out to ask if Luna had found electric cigars in Williams’ possession since a box had gone missing from the store. Luna found one on Williams, and a further nine stashed in his backpack inside the car. Williams admitted to taking them without paying, a theft of roughly $230.
Williams was charged with domestic assault and theft of property and held on $3,000 bond.
