Preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Juanita Massengill; sister, Belinda Massengill Boronkay; Brother-in-Law, Harold P. Taft. James is survived by: son, J. Matthew Massengill (Amanda) of Lenoir City; daughter, Julie Justen (Mosche) of Smyrna, Georgia. Grandchildren: Tyler Montgomery, Bailey Elliot, Gavin Carroll, Benjamin Justen, and Leo Justen; Greatgrandchildren: Karsen Montgomery, Willow Spears, Scarlett Gonzalez, and two more on the way. Sister, Cynthia M. Taft; Brother-in-law, John Boronkay. Nephew, Marc Taft; and Nieces: Amy Taft Duke and Amanda Boronkay and special grand-niblings: Brittany Boronkay, Eleanor Duke, William Duke, and Eli Taft. Many cousins and friends.

A special thank you to James’s sister, Cynthia, who lovingly took James into her home and cared for him as his Alzheimer’s Disease progressed from 2015 until his death. He was well loved, cared for, and could continue in his life’s purpose of helping others.

Arrangements are forthcoming.
