It's A Mystery

With the August election just around the corner, there are a lot of campaign signs to read especially around the early voting polls. But there is one sign that has raised some questions.

At the Lenoir city early voting poll mixed in with dozens of candidate signs is one sign that states, "WE DON'T NEED A BLOUNT CO. SCHOOL IN LOUDON CO.

I've had several calls questioning the meaning of the sign. It's a mystery to me. I have no idea what message is trying to be told. I don't know if it's some kind of a dig at the new school in Greenback or if somebody from Blount County is actually wanting to build a school in Loudon County. But apparently the poster of the sign has chosen to remain anonymous about their motives.

If the sign was placed by a school board candidate as backhanded slap about the new Greenback school or they have an issue about the building program, maybe they should step forward and make their views known. I'll be more than happy to give them space on the site.

If it's something else, maybe somebody will come forward to claim the mysterious sign and explain it's meaning.

Unless and until then we're just left to wonder.
