I'm In Amsterdam

Well, not really but this is as close as I want to get.

Our youngest son, Evan, was traveling last week to Germany to see his girlfriend. At some point, Sarah said his flight had left Detroit and should be over the ocean. I wondered if I could find his flight on the flightradar app. Didn't know his flight number so I just  started clicking on planes and believe it or not, I found it. The rest of the night, I followed his flight. I texted him a screen shot of his plain on the app, but of course he couldn't get a text while in flight.

About 1:20 am our time, his plane landed in Amsterdam Netherlands. Right after it landed, I got a text from in response to my earlier text. Then he sent me a picture of his plane taxiing on the runway.

I guess it's just me being a low tech guy, but I found it pretty amazing that I could track him for 4,200 miles, on my phone, in real time, and then he could send me pictures from there. It's all way past what I'll be doing. He flew out of Knoxville to Atlanta, then to Detroit then to Amsterdam. From Amsterdam, he had a six and a half hour train ride to Berlin. When the visit is over, he has to do the same thing all over again to get home. I guess love makes it worth while. Sure glad Sarah didn't live in Germany.

Anyway, that was my adventure for last week.
