News Herald Arrest Report

Homeless man facing numerous charges

A man is facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, after law enforcement received information April 3 that he was staying at a motel in Lenoir City.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Inv. Jamie Ketner went to the motel after learning Jeremiah Matthew Davis, 27, had active warrants. Ketner and other officers were approached by the motel manager who said he wanted the people in room 209 to leave.
Five minutes later, officers met a woman and Jeremiah Matthew Davis, 27, who originally provided identification as Jay Davis.

While speaking with the woman, 9th Judicial District Drug Task Force Agent April Farmer was told a gun was inside the bathroom under towels, which Davis placed there before being approached.

“For officer safety, the firearm, a Smith and Wesson SD9VE … was removed and secured,” Ketner wrote in a report. “During an interview of Davis, he admitted to holding the gun for another individual and that he had recently transported and moved it into the bathroom of the hotel room.”

Davis had an active warrant out of Lenoir City for failure to appear. After being transported to jail, law enforcement found 3.2 grams, in two separate baggies, of methamphetamine along with $698.

Davis, homeless, was charged with failure to appear, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of a Schedule II substance and criminal impersonation and held on $42,000 bond.
