Greenback woman hit with theft charges
 
A Greenback woman is facing theft charges after a woman claimed she had been robbed of property valued in the thousands.
 
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Cody Fritts was sent to Atchley Chapel Road to locate Kristin Nicole Farmer, 25, who was accused of taking a gray Toyota Sienna van, white iPhone, a Vera Bradley wallet, $1,100, debit and other cards from a woman early July at the 300 block of Executive Meadows Drive.
 
“The defendant was staying the night at (the woman’s) house,” Lenoir City Officer Scott Brewster wrote in his report. “During the night the defendant entered (the woman’s) bedroom and took her iPhone and her keys to the van.”
 
The woman’s phone and van were recovered near a Greyhound bus station in Knoxville. Total value of property was $17,280, according to the report.
 
Farmer was charged with theft over $10,000 and less than $60,000 and held on $25,000 bond.

July 29

• Heather Michele Adams, 40, Johnson City, was charged with a Washington County warrant and tampering/fabricating with evidence and held on $15,000 bond. Observing a 1999 blue GMC Sonoma on U.S. Highway 321 attempt to drive across two lanes to get into the median, LCSO Deputy Kevin Dailey initiated a traffic stop at Highway 321 and Waller Ferry Road. Dailey talked with Adams, Leslie Belcher and a man in the vehicle. “The passenger had a warrant out of Washington County. ... As Mrs. Adams was exiting the vehicle, she attempted to wipe the seat clean where I saw a powder substance,” Dailey wrote in his report. “Both were detained at this time with the powder substance to appear to be cigarette ash.” Adams admitted to trying to drive to a local motel to buy and sell drugs, according to the report. Belcher, 50, Johnson City, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and held on $2,000 bond.

• Brent F. Mallo, 53, Lenoir City, was charged with driving under the influence and simple possession/casual exchange and released on $2,500 bond.
 
• Trevus Wendell Martin, 43, Sweetwater, was charged with driving under the influence and held without bond.
 
• Marvin Ray Mounts, 28, Knoxville, was charged with driving under the influence and held on $3,000 bond. Dispatched to Reed Springs Road for a vehicle that had driven into a ditch, LCSO Cpl. Chris Hutchens located a 2002 white Ford Explorer and talked with the driver, Mounts, and a female passenger. Hutchens was told the two came from Sweetwater to get gas, and Mounts pulled off the side of the road because a stop sign was ahead. “Mounts was unsteady on his feet, lethargic, and had an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his person,” Hutchens wrote in his report. “He did also state he had consumed alcohol this evening.” Mounts performed poorly on standardized field sobriety.
