Greenback resident charged with robbery

Blount County authorities arrested a Greenback man and charged him with aggravated robbery, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

Micah Lee Sherwood, 21, Alcove Boulevard, was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $150,000 pending a 1:30 p.m. Jan. 31 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.

The charges stem from a Jan. 15 incident at Friendsville Market, 108 Endsley Quarry Road.

The victim told authorities he was meeting his friend at the market when Sherwood and another man asked the victim to give their car a jump. When the victim raised his hood to help, he said he was “jumped,” according to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office report.

Sherwood allegedly rummaged through the victim’s car, grabbed a bat and chased the victim with it.

He also took out a knife and put it to the victim’s back — threatening to cut him.

Sherwood first forced the victim to get into the car and then forced him to walk back toward the market.

Sherwood also allegedly tried to prevent the victim from calling 9-1-1.

Authorities arrested Sherwood Sunday night at a Alcove Boulevard address.

After confirming a warrant, they took him to jail without incident, according to the report.
