Great Idea

I didn't even think of this when I posted the story yesterday but a lot of you sure did.

I ran the little blurb about the old Yale building being for sale. Several of you wrote in to ask why LCUB wouldn't buy that building for 3.4 million dollars instead of buying property and building a whole new building for 15 to 20 million dollars. After all, the Yale building is right beside the current LCUB facility, it's plenty big enough to house all the LCUB departments and LCUB could save the rate payers a lot of money.

The city didn't have any problem buying an old bank building for city hall. Looks like this would be a big win, win all the way around. Heck, if they spent another two million dollars to upgrade the old Yale building, they'd still be fifteen million ahead.

Sounds like a plan to me.
