(WBIR-Tellico Village) A group of good Samaritans saved an elderly woman from drowning in Tellico Lake Sunday afternoon, according to TWRA officials.

Officials said Marilyn Allbritten, 71, of Tellico Village fell from her pontoon boat at about 100 yards from the Tellico Village Yacht Club at about 4:30 p.m. Witness said she did not resurface. Her husband jump into the water to try save her, but was unsuccessful.

A man on another boat saw what happened, jumped into the water, and pulled the unresponsive woman out of the lake. He then pulled her 72-year-old husband to safety. His wife Joanne Wriklund said she performed CPR on Allbritten for about 10 minutes until first responders arrived.

Crews drove Allbritten to Fort Loudoun Medical Center. TWRA spokesperson Roy Smith said she's expect to make a full recovery.
