Popular Loudon County restaurant goes up in flames

LOUDON (WATE) - A popular Loudon County Restaurant went up in flames late Tuesday evening.

Loudon Fire Department was alerted to the fire around 9:15 at The Log Cabin Bar-B-Que & Restaurant located at 10058 Old State Highway 72 in Loudon.

Witnesses told 6 News much of the building was destroyed.  They say onlookers gathered and lots of fire crews were on the scene. Dispatchers says several firemen were treated for smoke inhalation.

Drivers are being detoured around the area.  Fire officials are still on the scene.

Loudon's Log Cabin Restaurant appears to be a total loss after the building caught on fire Tuesday evening. Officers responded to the fire close to 9:30 p.m. There was no one at the business at that time.

Two firefighters have been taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation from battling the flames.

The restaurant located on Highway 72 just east of Interstate 75 is well known in the community.

By 10:30 p.m. the fire was under control, but officers continued to put out hot spots.

Officials are asking people to avoid the area.

No injuries have been reported.


Firefighters respond to blaze at Loudon County restaurant

LOUDON — Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded to a fire at a local barbecue restaurant tonight, according to Loudon County emergency dispatchers.
The fire was reported at the Log Cabin Restaurant, 10058 State Highway 72, just after 9 p.m.

There were no fatalities reported, although a dispatcher could not confirm whether anyone was injured.

The fire has been extinguished but members of the Loudon and Philadelphia fire departments are still at the scene.
