Elections 2026
It may be hard to believe, but it's time to start
thinking about the 2026 elections. There will be three elections in
2026, May County primary, August county general and state primary,
November state general and city elections. The first of the elections will be May 5th county primary. All county elected positions will be on the 2026 primary ballot with the exception of the property assessor and the two general session judges. Several county incumbent candidates have already announced their intent to seek re-election. No county incumbents have indicated they don't intend to run for re-election, so far. First day to pick up qualifying petitions is December 22. The May county primary election generally decides the election winners since democrats rarely run for office in Loudon County and if they do, they always lose. Any candidate wishing to seek election in the May Republican primary must be a bonafide republican. That means they must have voted in at least three of the last four Tennessee state primaries. This is a state republican party rule. Below is the full list of 2026 elections with dates.
