Early Vote 2012

Loudon Countians turned out in force to cast their ballots early. At the close of voting last Thursday, 15,590 folks had voted early. This includes absentee ballots. That's just slightly less than 50% of the more than 33,000 registered voters in Loudon County. The 2012 early vote total is just a few hundred votes less than were cast in the presidential election in 2008.

The presidential election is always the highest turn out election of all elections. In 2008, total votes cast in the presidential election for Loudon County was 22,431. Only 6,213 voters went to the polls on election day.

In the 08 election, Loudon County selected John McCain over Barack Obama by 71 to 27 percent margin. It's likely, Mitt Romney will win our county by an even larger margin.

If you didn't take advantage of the weeks of early voting, make sure you get to the polls tomorrow. Polls open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
