Dispute ends in hospitalization

A Loudon man was arrested Sunday after sending a man to the hospital with severe injuries.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Deputy Dalton Harrison responded to a Lenoir City address for a domestic dispute, only to learn the man had stopped breathing and CPR was in progress. When Harrison arrived, he found the man on the ground, conscious and alert, with large lacerations on his forehead and the back of his head as well as severe bruising to the face.

Additional officers arrived to help stabilize the man before EMS arrived and transported him to UT Medical Center for treatment.

The injuries were the result of a dispute with Seth M. Nix, 29. Nix and a few others had been riding horses in the man’s field, which led to him yelling at them to leave the property. They did so, but Nix later showed up at the residence, entered through the front door and called for the man to come outside.

An argument ensued on the front porch, at which point Nix pushed the victim off the front porch and began punching him in the face after he hit the ground.

Nix was charged with aggravated assault and held on $50,000 bond.
