DECEMBER 9, 2018-GEORGIA MAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES FOLLOWING PURSUIT ON I-75

Lenoir City, Tennessee - At approximately 12:45 am, Loudon County Sheriff’s Deput...ies were dispatched by Loudon County 911 Operators to a reckless driver that was reportedly traveling on Interstate 75, Northbound in the Southbound lanes.

When deputies made contact with the vehicle, an early 2000 model white Ford Ranger pickup, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to stop and fled. Deputies, assisted by officers from the Lenoir City Police Department, pursued the subject and began shutting down interstate traffic to protect the motoring public from the fleeing vehicle traveling in the wrong direction of I-75.

At 12:55 am, 10 minutes after the pursuit began, the driver exited onto Sugarlimb Road, lost control of the vehicle and was taken into custody.

The driver, Justin E. Conklin, 24, of White, Georgia, was charged with Felony Evading Arrest, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment, Speeding, Violation of Implied Consent Law, and Disregarding Traffic Signals. He’s currently being held at the Loudon County Jail. Conklin was given a bond of $38,000.00.
