Dayton man charged with domestic assault

A Dayton man is facing domestic assault charges after law enforcement saw a physical altercation at a local motel.

Dispatched to a motel on U.S. Highway 321, Lenoir City Police Officer Jeremy Dishner was told that Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Matt Fagiano was with a man and woman who were involved in a physical argument.

Dishner talked with Fagiano and the woman.

“Deputy Fagiano did observe the defendant, Carlos I. Fuentes, dragging the female in the roadway near the (local motel),” Dishner wrote in his report. “Deputy Fagiano advised the female was actively attempting to free herself from Mr. Fuentes’ grip but was unable to do so.”

The woman said she had gotten into an argument with Fuentes in a nearby fast food restaurant parking lot when he did not return her phone. She then proceeded to exit the vehicle and walked to a gas station beside the motel to call for a ride.

Fuentes, 35, was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor and released on $1,500 bond.
