Daycation

Sarah is always after me about wanting to go on trips. I'm just not much for traveling. But last Friday, I broke down and we took a little daycation.

We hit I-40 about 4:30 in the morning heading east. We passed through Knoxville under a full moon, very romantic. Then we saw the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg exit. Shortly there after, we took the 10 mph ride through the Little Pigeon Gorge, the winding portion of I-40 through the mountains in North Carolina,  when we got behind a rolling roadblock as workers were sitting out cones for a construction project twenty miles ahead. It took about an hour to go twenty miles. Lots of together time.

Then just at the sun was rising from the east, we had a delicious breakfast at the McDonalds in the Biltmore Village just off the interstate. After getting back on the interstate, we shortly passed the exit for Bermuda. But I don't think that's the one with the islands.

At the end of the first leg of out journey, we stopped in the village of Kernersville North Carolina. Kernersville is know for having one of the largest Ram Truck dealerships in the country. And wouldn't you know it, there was this one truck that just reached out and grabbed me.

Long story short, Sarah got a twelve hour daycation and I got a truck. All in all, I think we both had a very enjoyable trip. Please don't ask Sarah if she agrees.
