Couple arrested at LHS game

News-Herald

Two people were arrested at Tuesday night's basketball game at Loudon High School.

Loudon Police Officer Kent Russell said he observed Rebecca Ann Coon, 39, Madisonville, "drop her shoulder and slam into a member of the opposing basketball team," according to arrest records.

While searching Coon, Russell said he found an ink pen in her purse near her medications. He said it contained "a white powdery residue" believed to be a controlled substance.

John Williams Arden, 46, Madisonville, Coon's boyfriend according to arrest reports, became upset at the woman's arrest. Loudon Police Sgt. Scott Newman asked Arden to calm down and go home.

"Instead, Mr. Arden turned and screamed at this officer causing more of a scene," Newman wrote in his report.

Arden was charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on a $2,000 bond.

Coon was charged with assault and possession of drug paraphernalia, released on bonds totaling $4,000.
