Lake Goes Last

A situation was brought to my attention by a reader who felt the topic needed to be corrected and I agree.

"Down here" we call it Fort Loudon Lake, we call it Tellico Lake. They are not, I repeat not, Lake Loudon, not Lake Tellico.

I realize that "up north" they say it wrong, like Lake Michigan, Lake Erie and so. But once folks from up there move down here, they really need to learn the appropriate way to identify a lake.

Here's an easy way to remember how to say it right. LAKE GOES LAST.
