BILOXI -- The pedestrian killed by an alleged hit-and-run driver in Biloxi on Saturday has been identified as David Honarka, 70, of Greenback, Tenn.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove released his name Monday after locating relatives.

Honarka would often visit Biloxi casinos while his wife was visiting with relatives, Hargrove said.

Honarka had rented a room at the Beau Rivage on U.S. 90 and was struck by a vehicle about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

He was crossing the highway from the south side at the intersection of Reynoir Street when he was struck in a westbound lane, Hargrove said.

Shumarcus Taiwain Henderson Sr., 32, of Gulfport, is held on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. His wife, Angela Marie Henderson, 29, is held on a charge of accessory after the fact.

They remain at the Harrison County jail on bonds of $1 million and $200,000 pending court hearings.
