Cash Advance closed due to suspected arson fire

News-Herald

The shopping center containing the Cash Advance in Lenoir City was shut down Monday morning after sprinklers were activated in the Cash Advance, according to Lenoir City Fire Department Deputy Chief Tony Brock.

Brock said that six sprinkler heads were ignited around 6:30 a.m. Monday and added the suspected cause is an arson fire.  He said both the Cash Advance and the neighboring Dollar Tree suffered varying amounts of water damage due to the sprinkler system activation.

The deputy chief said the fire department was alerted around 8 a.m. about the sprinklers.
