Boy Scouts of America recruiting for new school year

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- The Boy Scouts of America, Great Smoky Mountain Council, is inviting all youth to come join their ranks!

Scouting is fun with a purpose. Youth learn physical fitness, character, and good citizenship – all while having a great time with family and friends. Most importantly, Scouting encourages them to do their best – a lesson that will help them achieve success throughout their lives.
Scouting is an age-appropriate program. Depending on your child’s age, he will be a member of a pack. As Cub Scouts advance through the program, they are recognized for their achievements.
A leader (usually a parent) is in charge of the activities, which include games, crafts, songs, ceremonies, field trips, and tons of fun!
This year the Great Smoky Mountain Council is offering a FREE Rocket Kit to all new Cub Scouts!
If you would like to join email Nathan Cunningham at Or if you want to identify Packs in your area visit and input your Zip Code.
All new Scouts will receive a rocket kit to build with their family, den, or pack and are invited to Blast Off at our FREE area Rocket Launches.
