A Knoxville woman was found dead in a car fire in Lenoir City Park Tuesday, according to Lenoir City Police Chief Don White.

The investigation is ongoing in the death of Jody Davis Pfeilspicker, 43, of 401 S. Gallaher Drive in Knoxville, White said.

"Everything points right now towards suicide," he said. "We are currently interviewing people."

Officers from the Lenoir City Police Department were first on the scene.

"The vehicle was burning when we arrived," White said. "We attempted to extinguish the fire, but were not successful."

The incident took place just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters from the Lenoir City Fire Department arrived and were able to put out the fire. The body was found in the driver's seat.

Preliminary indications point to the fire as the cause of death, though White said they can not be completely sure until reports come back.
