August Update 5

With just four days left to the deadline, candidates are still picking up petitions for the August election.

The most recent addition to the school board race is Philip Moffett who has picked up for the third district. Incumbent Gary Ubben has qualified to seek re-election for the 5th district, seat "A".

In the state representative races, 21st district republican incumbent, Jimmy Matlock, has qualified to seek re-election. Democrat Andrew Bennett has picked up a petition to challenge Matlock.

In the race for the 32nd district, independent candidate, Allen Cole of Roane County, has qualified to challenge incumbent Julia Hurley for her seat.

Candidates wishing to run for any of the offices on the August ballot have till 12:00 noon, April 5th to qualify.
