ARRESTS FOR INTRODUCTION OF CONTRABAND INTO A PENAL FACILITY
AND SALE AND DELIVERY OF SCHEDULED NARCOTICS

Sheriff Tim Guider announced that on Monday, March 7, 2011, deputies from the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office intercepted a number of prescription medications after an attempt to introduce the drugs into the Loudon County Jail.  A Loudon County inmate organized the delivery of prescription medication into the jail facility by using his wife and a working inmate to execute the delivery of the drugs. 

Sheriff Guider said the Narcotics Unit and Corrections Officers worked together to investigate the crime and bring two of the three persons into custody. 

The inmate, Casey Lee Elmore, 29, of Sweetwater, was charged with the Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility, four counts of Facilitation of Sale and Delivery of Schedule II Narcotics, and two counts of Facilitation of Sale and Delivery of Schedule IV Narcotics. 

The working inmate, Jason Michael Melton, 30, of Tellico Plains, was charged with Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility, two counts of Sale and Delivery of Schedule II Narcotics, and one count of Sale and Delivery of Schedule IV Narcotics. 

Deputies are also searching for a third person, Sarah Marie Elmore, 25, of Sweetwater, who is a wanted in connection with the crime and has outstanding warrants for her involvement.
