News Herald Arrest Report

Argument leads to several shots fired

A Lenoir City man is facing charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after law enforcement responded to a call Friday that a man fired a gun numerous times.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Inv. Sgt. Chris Bowen spoke with a man who said he and his roommate, Martin Francisco, were in an altercation earlier that morning after Francisco learned the man had a sexually transmitted disease. Francisco retrieved a Sig Sauer 9mm semi-auto pistol from a chair and fired one round.

Bowen noted in his report that the victim did not know what the sound was, and Francisco then continued to fire more rounds.

“At some point, the defendant did point the weapon toward the center of the forehead of the victim and stated, ‘What is keeping me from killing you right now?’” Bowen reported. “There were 15 casings located throughout the living room and the doorway of the adjoining bedroom. Three rounds exited the residence through the front window.” U.S. Highway 11 is approximately 25 feet from the front window.

Law enforcement found one round that exited the wall into the bathroom of an adjoining apartment. The bullet traveled across the bathroom, through a door, across the living room and into a wall. Officers located the bullet, which became lodged in the outside siding of the structure.

Francisco, 25, was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment and held on $15,000 bond.

He then backed up into the kitchen, sitting down on a bench and pulling her into his lap.” Other deputies arrived, which helped divert McDonald’s attention long enough to let the family member get free. McDonald looked as if he was going to grab a nearby fork, but Gray grabbed his arm to try to take him to the ground. McDonald got free and swung at a deputy before he was brought down with a leg sweep. Further discussion with the victim revealed McDonald was upset because she got a job. He then broke the victim’s phone and would not let her leave the room.
