Another R-3

Seems like Lenoir City mayor/council just can't have a meeting without adding more high density zoning to the city. The latest was another R-3 rezoning. At least this time it won't result in hundreds of apartments.

At the last council meeting, several items were added to the proposed agenda. One item added was a rezone. Ultimately, council voted to rezone a .05 and a 1.4 acre parcel to R-3. R-3 zoning allows for up to 24 residential units per acre. The property is located almost across from the Lenoir City High School. Councilman Mike Henline abstained on the vote.

According to the deed records in the register's office, the property, lot 20 and 21, is owned by Lenoir City councilman, Mike Henline.  Henline bought the two properties for $950,000.00 back in May of 2022. The larger property already has two quadplexes, eight apartments, and a garage type building on it. The half acre lot is vacant.

Obviously, the mayor/council have no intentions to stop or even slow the insane over development in the city. The election is November 8th.
