Re: ACLU Sends Letter to Public Schools

Dated: December 7, 2010

Attn: Hedy Weinberg, Executive Director,

Dear Ms Weinberg,

Can you please tell me why your organization is constantly trying to eliminate Christianity from this Country? It is evident that the Founding Fathers were devoted Christians. They prayed in public. They prayed in sessions of Congress and even published a Bible to be used in public schools. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were based on Judaic Christian values! In fact, if it were not for Judaic Christian Values there would not be a Declaration of Independence or a Constitution. Religious values and morals are essential to the function of this Country! As John Adams said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”.

You base your actions on the freedom of religion clause in the first amendment of the Constitution which states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;” To my knowledge the Congress has not passed laws that have established a state religion nor prohibited the free exercise thereof. However organizations, such as yours, are constantly getting Judges to distort the Constitution thru erroneous interpretations. You are trying to change the separation of church and state to the separation of God and state. The free expression of one’s religion regardless of their position and the circumstances of such expression do not establish a religion. However, the prohibition of religious expression because it might offend someone does indeed violate the First Amendment! Using the Judiciary to usurp the authority of Congress also defeats the Separation of Powers requirement in the Constitution.

I recognize that in the past Christianity has been used by some people for evil purposes and that the Bible has references to slavery and despicable practices such as stoning people to death. However, there is absolutely nothing in the actual teachings of Jesus that anyone has to fear! The modern teachings and practices of both Judaism and Christianity are messages of love and forgiveness.

On the other hand the teachings, the written word and the everyday actions of the believers of Islam are the exact opposite. Theirs is a message of hatred and violence! They still practice slavery and stoning. They have brought to this country honor killings, killing of apostates, female genital mutilation, and religious intimidation. Their schools and Mosques in the United States are filled with violent literature, sharia law, jihad promotion, terrorism, general hatred of Jews and Christians and sedition. Islam is more political than religious and their intent is to destroy the Constitution and our freedom. Yet you never challenge them! In fact you always rush to their aid, supporting their religious rights. Why, why, why, please tell me why!
