A stolen van leads to chase involving 2 suspects, 2 counties Deputy Dalton Harrison, K-9 officer Draco respond to wreck and more NEWS-HERALD STAFF On June 7, 2025, Deputy Dalton Harrison responded to a car wreck involving a white van in a ditch on Ford Road. A passerby stated to Harrison that three people … two men and a woman … fled from the van, into the woods and toward a burned-down building with backpacks on. Once he arrived at the scene, Harrison and K-9 officer Draco started to conduct a search of the suspects starting from the wrecked van. A shoe and a bag of half a gram of methamphetamine was reportedly found at the burned-down building as the law enforcement officers continued their search. K-9 officer Draco also proceeded to locate a red duffle bag and an orange T-shirt before losing the suspects’ trail due to the heat. Deputy Harrison swung back to search the white van and found identification belonging to Zachary Long and Arielle Reynolds. There was also 30-06 ammunition in the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia, reports stated. It was noted that Long and Reynolds had an “extensive history” in Knox County. Loudon County dispatch then contacted Global Communications and Professional Services who said that the white van was possibly stolen. The company’s operations manager, Jason Pemberton, was in the process of reporting it stolen while Harrison was searching for the suspects. Long was an ex-employee of Global Communications and Professional Services who had quit a few months ago, according to reports. Later on, after the incident was cleared, a person called into Loudon County Dispatch and stated that he had picked up both Long and Reynolds. The duo told the person that picked them up that they were in an accident and fled the scene. Around the same time, the Knoxville Police Department received a call about Long and Reynolds linked to an address on Massachusetts Avenue. Officer Mullins of the Knoxville Police Department said that Long and Reynolds fled out the back of the residence matching the address once he arrived. Nevertheless, the suspects were detained shortly after. Once the two suspects were detained, Long admitted to stealing the van, reports stated.
