73-year-old woman found dead in burned Lenoir City apartment

LENOIR CITY - An autopsy today should tell investigators if a 73-year-old woman died this weekend from a fire in her apartment or some other cause.

Lenoir City Police Chief Don White said firefighters discovered Else Fagg sitting in a chair in the living room of her single-story apartment after extinguishing flames that erupted at 12:04 a.m. Sunday. She was dead when they found her.

White said no other apartments were damaged by the flames.

Fire investigators determined the flames were ignited by "a faulty plug in one of the rooms" of the apartment at 205 Dogwood Terrace, White said.
