Jenkins, Betty Osborne


Of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006.  She was a 50 + year member of Central United Methodist Church where she was  active with the United Methodist Women, the Volunteer Sunday School Class, and the church choir .  She was a graduate of Lenoir City High School and a member of the East Tennessee Historical Society.  Betty taught kindergarten at Central United Methodist Church for many years and retired as purchasing manager from Loudon Hospital.  Preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Jenkins; parents, Charles and Margaret Adkisson Osborne; sister, Margaret Osborne; brothers, Frank and Ed Osborne.  Survived by her children, Peggy Jenkins Tinnel and husband, Ed, Chuck Jenkins and wife, Kim; granddaughters, Taylor and Tori Jenkins all of Lenoir City; sisters, Frances Ray of Lenoir City and Martha Kidd of Aiken, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:45 p.m. Monday, September 4th at Central United Methodist Church.  Funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ron Fisher officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The Volunteer Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers and active pallbearers will be: Randy McCloskey, John Tinnel, Ed Tinnel, Bob McCurry, Bill Ghormley and Ray Couey.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 301 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, TN 37772 or to the Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Foundation, 310 Dundee Road, Suite 402, Northbrook, IL 60062Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City is serving the family of Betty Jenkins.
